Fuel Caps - Car Hire

Any men reading this will probaby laugh. Typical woman, they'll think but to any single woman / mum's this is for you.

When you pick up a hire car, do all the checks, sratches and chips and dents and how much fuel etc etc. Once you have done all that, forget about looking stupid and ask the person to show you where the fuel cap is AND how to open it.

Why they can't keep it uniform I don't know

You would think that I would have learnt my lesson after the first time but, no, I did it twice. Pulled up into the garage forecourt to fill up and then made an utter fool of myself by not being able to find the little doodah thingy to open the petrol cap. It was invariably hidden somewhere under the seat, behind the dashboard.

Both times I had to get a man to come and find the wretched thing. So if you are travelling on your own or with a man who doesn’t cope well with this sort of thing ask the car hire place how to open the petrol cap before you leave!
