Don’t hassle about buying new everything for the trip unless you have a particular brand that you must have. Use what you have and buy when you need along the way. This can save around 1kg in extra weight.
Also, unless you are going somewhere very obscure resist the temptation to buy the large economy bottles and tubes too. This can add so much weight.
- Don't stress about carrying loads of make up, the basics will be more than adequate.
- Leave the travel iron, curling tongs, straighteners behind. A small hairdryer is just fine
- Leave the perfume and aftershave
- Forget the fancy creams and lotions. Vaseline is brilliant stuff and can be used as lip balm, heel balm, hand balm, bum balm...
- TAKE the aloe vera gel. Awesome stuff for a myriad of things, soothing and healing and wonderful for burns and scalds
- Don't forget the insect repellent
- Don't forget the heavy duty sunscreen
- Remember if luggage weight is too much for you you can have your shower with your shampoo or shampoo with your shower gel and leave a bottle behind.
