Electronics on your Gap Year
When I was packing for the trip I was thoroughly taken aback by all the wires we needed to take having last ‘backpack’ travelled some 15 years ago, before the age of mobiles and laptops.
Sorry, I have no tips here besides the ‘where possible use the same charger’. I could never think of way to get round this and wouldn’t have been without any of my electronic stuff.
Be prepared for the shock of the last pack and you look in a bag and see nothing but a jumble of W I R E S!!
We needed, laptop charger wire, mouse wire, speakers and headphone wire, Ipod charger wire, Ipod download wire, Ipod headphone wire, Ipod Speaker wire, Ipod Speaker charger wire, Camera charger wire, Video charger wire, Video download wire, Video to TV wire, Photo upload wire, Mobile charger wire, Mobile car charger wire, Gameboy charger wires, kids camera charger wires (x2), Hair dryer wire, fan wire… and I am sure there are some I have forgotten.
All in all we took at least 20 assorted electric cables with us… and this was after we elected to leave behind the travel iron, Lisa’s hair straightener and my hands free and a few others besides.
