Ipod, MP3's and gap year travel
"You got to be careful if you don't know where you're going because you might not get there" - Yogi Berra
Ipod Lessons: Lisa, my eldest, had to learn German for school and I loaded 8 hours of German lessons onto the Ipod and we spent many interesting hours learning German through the Australian and New Zealand country side.
Fortunately we meant many Germans along the way who had many laughs at our expense while we tried to repeat what we had learnt to them.
Music
We also had loads of music on our ipod which was great and collected more while we were away which of course, now when we listen to it brings back many happy memories.
Story Books
We also loaded a number of children's audio books onto the Ipod. This made the hours whizz by and even I found myself laughing, in fact so hysterically at Jacqueline Wilson's Cat Mummy that at one point that I had to pull over.
We got these books free from the library and it was a great way of making time flow on the long drives.
