TSA locks and Luggage Security

Use a TSA recognized lock
If you feel more comfortable locking your in-hold luggage (I CERTAINLY did in Africa) use a TSA recognized lock. (The States.)
TSA screeners have tools for opening and re-locking baggage with either of Travel Sentry locks or Safe Skies locks. Otherwise if they want to have a snoop in your case they just break the lock and you’ve wasted your money.

Cling film
In South Africa and in other places where no one can be trusted they offer a facility of 'locking' your luggage or bags with clingfilm.
What happens here is, just before check in a man stands at entrance to the queue with a large turntable and a huge industrial role of heavy duty clingfilm. For anything from a couple of pounds up he will whack your case on the turn table, spin it around the cling film and, Bob's your Uncle, you have a hermetically sealed suitcase. At this point it wise not to remember you have left your passports inside it.
To get into the suitcase you will need patience, a sharp knife and skill.
